It Takes a Village

We have the most fantastic friends. Seriously, such loving, genuine people your heart can barely stand it. The kind of folks you can't wait to lawn bowl with, you know?

We were one of the first in our group of friends to have kids and it has always made me feel so warm when our friends loved on our babies. And they always have. I used to think, these girls are so lucky to know and be loved by these people, these people with hearts big enough to hold everything they have AND our babies too. Now that so many of them have started families of their own, I realize. They LOVE us. They love our babies because it's so easy. It feels so natural. And man, we LOVE them and their sweet babies just the same way. To the Mommies and Daddies of Mya, Charlie, Kaitlyn, Jack, Asher, Fiona and Henry, we are so grateful to be a small part of your village. And we are equally blessed that you are a part of ours. And to the parents of Spencer and Johanna, our girls are so lucky that we have you to watch and learn the big lessons from.

  1. Julie, we love your children and you guys too! I have always embraced the "it takes a village" concept. We need our village (family/friends and kiddos too) to sustain our emotional wellness, to encourage our growth, to challenge our thinking and push us out of our comfort zone. THANK you for sharing your thoughts and allowing us into your (most special) village.
