Wedding Plans and a Delicious House Guest.

This is the slice of heaven we got to share our weekend with. She belongs to our friends Jeff and Cheryl but I'd have gladly kept her. In the 24 hours she was here she was upset a total of ZERO times. This babe is something special. Nothing but cuddles and smiles, not to mention - gorgeous. She took to her impromptu drawer-bed like a champ and slept like an angel. My girls are enamored with baby Fiona and, quite frankly, so am I.
In wedding planning news, Fiona's Mama (and bridesmaid), Cheryl and I looked at some dresses, cakes, floral arrangements etc. online during our visit - and I really feel like progress is being made! Bridesmaids will be in a buttery shade of yellow with baby's breath bouquets. Groomsmen in black tuxes with ivory ties and vests and yellow boutonnieres. Not quite sure on what type of flower. Matthew will be in a black tux as well, and likely a champagne vest and tie. My dress, of course, is Ivory. Table and chair linens will all be white and floral arrangements will be white/cream/ivory. It is coming together in my head and I am thankful for the peace of mind. And for the helpful insights of great friends. It will be such a great day. A small but special sample is in the song you hear as you read this post.

This will be an eventful week for the blog. Look forward to an emotional (read: Blubbering Mama) post Thursday evening about my reflection on the most magical 3 years of my life thus far, and likely another post Sunday evening about the events of Elise in Wonderland. I leave you with a taste of the magic that will be my baby's third birthday party.

Hey New Stuff, We Welcome You.

We have been busy, busy, busy soaking up summer with friends and family. I will I WILL take the time next week to figure out how to start adding pictures to my posts. Hold me to it.

We had the Farrell Family Reunion on the long weekend and it was simply fantastic. Kudos to my sissy and honorary sissy for doing all the work to get such a rad weekend off without a hitch. My girls played and played until they could barely keep open their eyelids with all the little cousins - they had the time of their lives. An Elise quote "Reunions at the campsite are sooooooo fun! And my cousins are my FRIENDS!" She talked about "the campsite" for days afterward. Matt and I are thinking a mini-reunion should take place annually at DTR.

This weekend we are heading to Edmonton where the girls will spend time with Nana on Friday night while the Mommy and Daddy will get to spend some time catching up with friends and watching DCI Semifinals. Saturday, the Mommy and the Nana will be doing some shopping for a certain upcoming birthday party sans children and in the evening we will all be celebrating Matt's Mom's and his Papa's birthdays.

In other news - this Mama is ready for Fall! Like seriously, this is the first time in my nearly 23 years that I can remember yearning for the seasons to change. It's not that I don't want to hold onto the beach, my tan, the warm, the skirts, the music pumping out of vehicles with their windows unrolled, (I could honestly list delicious summer things for an eternity) and the girls playing with the hose with every fiber of my being and stretch those things and many others into the whole year, but we just have so many awesome things to look forward to for Fall!
Elise's first day of PRESCHOOL is Sept. 7th! My baby is going to school! I will not get into what a blubbering mess this makes me quite yet. No, I will save that post for her birthday. She is so ready. My prediction for what the teacher will say when we meet again in November "Elise is smart as a whip, and would learn a lot more if she ever quit socializing". Maybe they don't say things like that at preschool parent/teacher meetings. Anyway, that girl don't fall far from the Mama tree. We are also going to put both girls into swimming lessons and Elise into her first dance class. AND THEN we have a family of 4 mini-vacay planned in early November to Jasper that I cannot WAIT for! Not to mention there is Halloween in there too, and YES, I already have the costumes picked out.

I feel ready to smell cinnamon and eat apple desserts and see reds and yellows and browns. Bring it on Mother Nature - this year I shall not wallow!~
